I remember this! At the time I was living in Las Vegas. I felt 3 shock waves couldn't figure out what they were! When I saw it on the news, then I was shocked that I felt it way out in Las Vegas! There is also a Marshmallow Factory near there. There was SUPPOSED to be an Elementary School touring through there at THAT time. Thank the Lord, something happened to where they didn't have the tour that day!

Something incredible to behold; it's unfortunate that loss of lives and property were involved.

It was ammonium perchlorate they were manufacturing, not sodium perchlorate.

I know your right about that. I mean about the added sound effects. You hear the sound the moment the explosion occurs. That's never true. There's always a delay in time before you hear the sound of the explosion. Sound travels at about a 300 meters per second on sea level. Being 1 1/5 kilometres away it would last about five seconds you hear the explosion after it ocurred..

No kidding! I'm looking for actual footage, I remember seeing it a couple years ago. Not this stuff that has sound effects tossed in the moment light is generated. The real event was impressive enough.

The cheesy added noises are pathetic. Other than that, the explosion is truly impressive.
