I know this is not the origin place of this video as I remember seeing this years ago, but it's still an amazing AMV. One of the best I've ever seen. In fact, I saw the AMV before I had ever even heard of Macross Plus, and after viewing it, I bought it. Yes, I know the AMV has spoilers, but it was so well edited and the song was so great to me that I wondered if the source material was as good. And it was. It was. Better, even. =P

'cuz live action is too easy when it comes to humans and too pricey if you want to make Macross-like crafts or Sonic-like characters. Animation is hard, but CERTAINLY pays off in the end, especially if it's an OVA (Original Video Anime) or Animated Film, because those have high budget$ and look better.

lol I know! To me the animation itself is part of the magic of the show. It's MEANT to be animated. Live action just wouldn't feel the same.

This to me is the gold standard for Macross series that came after the original. Everything else these days, whether CG'd or not doesn't impress me nearly as much because I've already seen it all in Macross Plus.

I suppose is an omake to the famous chopper battle in Blue thunder where good guy and villain fire and dodge between buildings (the good guy even used as bait to lure heat seeking missiles a skyscraper and a chinese chicken restaurant)with little care about civilians
