I was at a many show years ago in Billings, MT, and he did accept a request - actually an audience demand - for Sharon. He was obviously not happy about it, particularly since he was traveling solo. With no band, as he stood in the audience during the horn dominated Main Street Moan break, silently watching the empty stage, it became apparent that it was not a good idea to request this song. Maybe that's why he wouldn't do it at all later.
