But when even Rabindranath has been reduced to make money for some incapable singers, fate of Nazrul is anybody's guess. Rajanikanta, Atulprasad... all gone.
This is the age of raunchy girls of bollywood who makes the sell in absence of good composer, good film maker, good story writer.
But Bengalis are worst hit. Due to lack of commerce and worsening education and administration, Bengal is a poor shadow of itself now. Mr Jyoti Basu can take the credit singularly.

but what about the writer and composer Kaji Nazrul Islam. We must remember him too. This song was written in the memory of his son who died very early. But what you said is also true.
