Snowball is a Medium Sulphur Crested Eleanora Cockatoo that dances to the Back Street Boys and other songs that he rates as having a "very good beat." He came to Bird Lovers Only Rescue Service, Inc. (a 501c3 not for profit bird rescue and sanctuary) in August 2007 and continues to make us laugh with his fancy footwork. We are currently raising funds to build a bird habitat for Snowball and other birds like him. Please visit us at http://www.birdloversonly.org to receive Snowball DVDs, shirts, and other items in return for your donations. Thank you so very much for your generous support of our cause! Please also visit our blog http://www.birdloversonly.blog... for up to date research information on Snowball's cognitive music studies.

Oh, bless your heart! Thank you for trying to find out the info for me from your local zoo! YES, INDEED I WOULD LOVE IT OUT IN AUSTRALIA! I would be especially happy to see these birds in their natural environment. It's a shame we have imprisoned these birds in our homes. As good of a life as I try to give them, I just feel as though it can never be enough. Irena - Bird Lovers Only Rescue Service, Inc.

I dont know if you got my last message but I have now emailed our local zoo who will hopefully put me in touch with someone who can help me find the answer! If you didnt get my last one- they often swing off the electricity wires for fun

Unfortunately I have only seen them when they have come in for a feed. Although we used to have a pet galah (pink and grey cockatoo) and it was very agressive to everyone but my mother. Mostly I have seen them playing on the telegraph wires - they love to hang upside down and swing around! They seem quite friendly to each other but I am not sure if they are males or females! Maureen PS You would love it here - lots of colourful parrots even in the suburbs!

Since you get to witness them in the wild, maybe you can tell me what they are like during breeding season. Males, in captivity, become VERY aggressive toward their mates and even humans during mating season. Are they this aggressive out in the wild? Just curious if you have witnessed any interesting characteristics. Thanks! Irena - Bird Lovers Only Rescue Service, Inc.

Thanks for getting back. We had our own dancing cocky (same breed) his favourites were the mixtures in the summertime and the pushbike song - he was right up there with snowball - they seem to have a good sense of rhythm as well as these endearing personalities (I recently handfed a wild one that landed on our back deck) LOVE snowball

No one taught him to dance. He just started dancing to music one day. He's developed his own style over time. Irena - Bird Lovers Only Rescue Service, Inc.

I have one question: You have taught him? Or he has started to do it by itself?
