A lot of songs on Magic reflect on current American culture. I guess this one's about women's loss of interest in men as a result of increased independence and freedom for them, and a longing for a balance between independence and togetherness between men and women. Bruce hasn't lost his fire and probably never will.

The Rising had some good songs but I think the MAGIC album is one of the best from Bruce in a long time...I hope the new one he's got coming out is just as good. This is probably the best song off Magic.
