I agree. I'm atheist, but I don't hold the view you stated. Faith is hope to get you through hard times, and religion actually does do that. I think that's why people believe.

Scary thing is that in my sociology class i learned that religion in someways resemble cults. When we hear the word we think of men in hooded black robes. haha, now, i think of little old ladies ringing my door bell handing me a pamplet and trying to convert me
