Hey, that's interesting. I remember those geckos when I was at Shwab in 79. I miss Okinawa. To me that was the best place to be a Marine. I was always in open squadbay my whole 8 yrs in the Corps. I got out in 86.

In Kaneohe Bay the last open squad bays I remember were B 1/3 weapons Plt in 1988 to 1989. Receiving was an open squad bay in 1993 when I left the island. I liked the open squad bays in Okinawa at Camp Hansen. Woke up one night in "88" with a big mama gecko staring at me from the ceiling beam. We were a tighter unit in the open squad bays. It reminded me of boot camp. We lost the Plt home and gained the unit hotel.Qauntsin huts are still in Camp Wilson, CA and PTA on the BIG Island of HI. |
