was born and raised in Boston Mass. I moved to Maine when I was 21. last year I went back because my grandmother passed away. On the drive down... this song played on one of the oldies stations. It was wonderful. I love this song.

The Bee Gees had never been to Massachusetts they just thought the word worked in the song and made sense for its meaning and rhythm, it could of been 'Feel, I'm going back to Connecticut'...but it doesn't matter, its called Massachusetts everybody!

I lived in Mass for a few years and remember just how flattered the locals were that the Bee Gees wrote a song for their beautiful state. Where so many stars wrote so many "cutting edge" songs about places like NY or California, it gave the folks of Mass a warm feeling to know that someone thought them so special. I listen to this song and remember family I had there and my days as a college student in Boston. (Btw, there are few places better for your college days than Boston, MA!)

All the guys I used to hang with adored the Bee Gees, I still do...Their songs stir something deep inside, I like all the other bands around, but the Bee Gees will always be special to me.
