Anaglyphic 3D movie. To view use a set of 3d glasses with the red filter over the left eye and the blue filter over the right eye. There's a cross eye 3D version of this film here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... and you can also see some still photographs here: http://www.panoramio.com/user/... 26 August 2007. Locomotive 3007, a 60 year old engine originally built in Glasgow returns to the city and is put on display in Goerge Square. The 180-tonne steam locomotive which spent its working life in South Africa is to be an exhibit in the new Riverside Transport Museum. This is my first experiment with my new digital 3D camera setup. I usually do still 3D photography but my new sony DSC-V3's do video so I thought I'd have a try at a 3D movie. For those who ask how it's done: You have 2 cameras strapped together with the lenses separated by about 6.5cm just like your 2 eyes. Start filming with your 2 cameras at precisely the same moment (that's the tricky bit - I use a box of electronic tricks to do this but you could also do a bit of post production editing to get your 2 films starting at precisely the same moment) You take the 2 resulting films and combine them with a program like "Stereo Movie Maker" which is excellent and free, so no reasons not to try it. StereoMovieMaker will allow you to chose from several different 3d formats and will render up the final movie for you. Pictures of my camera here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/c... Just have to work on holding the camera still now. Thanks to RogerTubed for the inspiration and advice. Music Credit: Magnetic Fields Part III by Jean Michel Jarre.

nice job! This 3D stuff is quite addictive! I love that you tube is allowing high 1Gig uploads which makes this 3D stuff possible now.

I think the higher quality films look better in 3d and I think the compression of you tube makes to many artifacts and messes up the 3d some.

FileOpen Left/Right Movies. you will be promted to open a file select your left movie file and hit OPEN you will then me prompted to open a second file select your right movie file and hit OPEN You now have your 2 movies loaded into smm. press 'X' to cross 'em over. (so left movie is on the right and right movie is on the left) FileSave Stereo Movie. Set Stereo Format to 'Side by side'. save it. done.

ok heres what i mean i have two vids already but i want to know how to put them side by side in stereo movie maaker

um I'm not quite sure I follow? How do you make your own? I go into that in the blurb on my other video (a bit) you create a movie using 2 cameras about 6cm apart (I'd start with trying to make some still images first) then you simply load the 2 movies into smm and make sure they're the right way round, then smm save it as a stereo left/right movie and smm will render it up for you.

no i mean how do i make a cross eyed vid on stereo movie maker and i watched the cross eyed thing
MarbleMad (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
look at the cross eye version of this video. In the 'about this video' theres a link to instructions on making a set of glasses that may help. Even if you don't make them read the instructions that come with them.
