And yes, Russia lost POLITICAL in Afganistan, so did the US in Vietnam. Guerilla warfare is impossible to win if you don't erase the whole population. BUT, Russia have managed as the only country in the world to do this without killing all inhabitants, look at Chechnya, they have turned the chechnes agaist eachother instead of killing them.
