Of all their songs, this is the one I like the best. It captured that feeling you get cruising down the highway with the world opening up before you. Awesome. In the wikipedia article on it, it says that "alligator lizards in the air" refers to cloud shapes. Possibly you had to be in the right frame of mind to see them. :-P
