To an earlier poster: my parents remember WW2, and even they prefer the 2005 version. I don't think it really has anything to do with it.
The problem I have with this one is the musical was supposed to be " a love letter to Hitler", but the actual lines are so blatantly mocking him ("all my friends are here, man!") it doesn't fit that description. The newer version, what makes him funny is his "unfortunate" personality portrayal, not his lines.
But, that's a personal opinion.

Its better in the '05 version how the dancers have tap shoes on.

hmm! this seems to have like a story going on while the show is on, the other one doesnt
put prefer the way its like a big broadway stage and musical in the other one!

I find it hard to compare the two, given that the first one was made for a generation that actually remembered WWII, instead of simply hearing about it in history class.

tell me if i'm wrong, but is that Don Adams(get smart) in the audience getting beat up for applauding? (mel brooks co-wrote get smart) It looks just like him. |
