She may not be talking about anorexia in the way we all think about it but metaphorically. she loves the person so much that she is willing to "not eat" or move on because the food she is waiting on is his "Love." She is willing to starve herself of being happy until he is ready to give her the answer(food/love) she wants. She wants that food/love sooo much that she won't have accept/eat anything else. Then again I could just be too drunk and looking too much into this. whichever, that my 2cts.

it's amusing how the people who say it's about an eating disorder get called retards when: 1.fiona admitted to anorexia. 2.one of the most popular songs in the e.d. community. 3.unless you've been thru it, you have NO idea. "hunger hurts, starving works" literally. anorexia is a coping skill. "cost too much to love.." the fear of being vulnerable is a common trait in e.d."a mess he don't wanna clean up" he can't handle her e.d. "in your head. so is everything." e.d. voice. been there :(
