I think that with our current system- like how together the two parties will spend nearly a billion dollars on this presidential campaign, and even running for Congress takes loads of money- it pretty much takes corrupt people who are willing to sell their soul to special interest- whether left or right.
It's hard to see how good, honest, ordinary Americans could have a chance of running for office- much less winning! And too often voters don't care!

Bush is doing a pretty good job of that, or at least pulling the cover over Pelosi's head so she doesn't catch him, and yep, Bush's corruptness started WELL before he was even a politician!

LOL! When it comes to people like Jefferson, I often wonder if most politicians are corrupt, is it better that they are stupid like that, or should we at least have clever crooks in office, as long as they're going to be there! It's like in 7th grade some kids pressured me to give them some answers during a test while Mr. Schmelling was out-he caught us & just said "If you're going to cheat, make sure you don't get caught"

I totally agree with you. They are ALL politicians and they all can't be trusted with a 10 ft. pole, and yes, that includes William Jefferson ( the LA congressman who is on "the left" )
My point was that I was making is that over the last half a dozen years, it has become "shameful" to be a "republican", and that is why they now refer to themselves as the "GOP", and why ANY affiliation's dead-duck draw for any candidate affiliating themselves with Bush, aka McCain, or those who "died" in '06. |
