You are great at explaining in an understandable way. It's easy to follow your show even for non geeks.

You know... we did that for Interop... but it was a hack. I believe the Infrant guys were planning on implementing something in the OS that would span units. Lemme email the guys and see what they say.

That's not rude at all --- It's actually a very good question. --- For many (most?) people an external 1TB drive or two is perfectly fine. That kind of solution gets good performance, costs much less, and is far less complicated --- However, for some, there is no substitute for a Network Attached Storage device. That kind of 24x7 network accessible storage is invaluable to some uberGeeks and professionals.

not trying to be rude, but I always found these stuff pointless: why not grab an external 1 TB hard drive, and simply use that?
If multiple backups are so important, grab two 1 TB boxes...

Good point --- The 1100 is really for those who run their own Data Center (even a Data Closet) or need something that can be racked. For anybody who doesn't have those particular needs, the NV+ is a better choice.

Lol, 110 degrees in the shade. I see how this is a very good product but it doesn't seem to be the sort of thing many people are likely to buy, in my opinion. The other one from episode 3 however, looks like a much more 'general' market product.

I was worried that the Netgear thing would mess up Infrant. It's nice to see that they still have their own thing. The NV+ was a great unit and now you make me want to get a few 1100 for my video setup. |
