EARTHLINGS is a feature length documentary about humanity's absolute dependence on animals (for pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and scientific research) but also illustrates our complete disrespect for these so-called "non-human providers." The film is narrated by Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix (GLADIATOR) and features music by the critically acclaimed platinum artist Moby. Part 1: (watching) http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ghx... I stopped at the Gas Chamber. This is so horrible. I've been a vegetarian for years, but if i wasn't this would surely make me. I feel so upset right now.

You're a bit thick, aren't you? (1) Appeal to nature is a logical fallacy. (2) Appeal to majority is a logical fallacy. (3) If this were true, I'd be long dead.

I drive caddles too a local butcher in north sweden.. this made me very sad too see, but happy at the same time. i concider my self lucky, that we have a very clean strict and humanity way f dealing with animals. this is jusst insane. "care for animals but dont forget we r a parasite called humans"

They think racism/sexism/speciesism comparisons are insulting because they are speciesists, so they wrongly see it as as lowering humans, not raising nonhumans. The main argument is that the most basic principles of ethics applied among humans - against causing harm for trivial reasons - apply to other species because they're equally capable of being harmed. The assumption of excluding them rests on refuted secondary principles like "nature" and "moral agency." See "Animal Liberation" book.

Humans are omnivorous, capable of consuming both plant & animal products. This view is supported by the evidence that either a pure animal or a pure vegetable diet can lead to deficiency diseases in humans. Pure animal diets, for instance, may lead to scurvy, a vitamin C deficiency, while pure plant diets may lead to vitamin B12 deficiency. However properly planned vegetarian/vegan diets often in conjunction with B12 supplements have been found to satisfy nutritional needs. But we are omnivores
