Erosberto--i WOULD HATE TO HEAR Corelli sing this it would be like Kraus singing Chenier but anyhow he is wonderful here it fits him and also the Tagliavini recording is very good but this is really hard to surpass Bravo!

Amen to that. Look up his Salut Demeure on here -- it murders everyone else's, from Caruso to Corelli to Björling. And I'm a rabid fan of all three of those guys.

It's so nice to sings this aria without all the swooping and sliding that so many tenors junk it up with. Kraus doesn't have to resort to that because his gorgeous singing does all the impressing. Back here in his prime, his voice had such meat and heft to it. I especially love he's able to sing "M'ama" phrase all in one breath and make it sound so effortless.
