...Okay, so you're basically saying that you're going to ignore the entire subculture of emo, which this song was originally attacking, because it was originally a subgenre of music. You're saying that because these other things, which sprang up in the wake of the music and are indicative of the genre's impact on society, did not spring up at the exact same time as the music it must mean that these things can't represent the sub-culture. Is that what you were saying? ...MAKES SENSE TO ME!!!

im on my sisters acount but this song sucks im emo! do any of you ANY OF YOU know why we cut!! we cut because the emotional pain is to hard to deal with and if we can make it physical we can controle it. you dont know me so you have no right to judge me or anyone like me.... people call me weird but i would rather be myself than a conformist prep!

Look, it's fun to make fun of these people, but keep it civil and remember what's going on here. 90% of "emo" people are teenagers, and you cannot realistically expect teenagers to do anything but walk around making idiots out of themselves. There's a 24/7 media machine that has trained them to do it since birth. If you think of yourself as emo...stop. Subcultures are a joke. Wake up and look around you: yes, the mainstream sucks, but you're just buying into another conformist culture.
