A squid is a fairly stereotypical term given to someone who buys a bike like an R1 as their first bike and ride it with none or minimal gear and generally ride the bike far far beyond their abilities.
Some also call them squids because they normally get shredded on the road when they hit the ground due to their lack of gear, so they look like squids... rather morbid if you ask me but I suppose it can happen.
