Edie Adams has passed away at the age of 81. The existence of these ads, along with the other Ernie Kovacs clips on the internet, is entirely due to the effort she made to locate and preserve her husband's TV work. She has our love and our prayers.

It was because of Ernie's association with his sponsor that Edie became the "Muriel Girl" in Consolidated's Muriel commercials in the early '60s; they also sponsored her bi-weekly variety series (aka "HERE'S EDIE"} on ABC in the 1963-'64 season...

I remember his wife Edie Adams was the singer/spokesperson for Muriel Cigars, which came from the Consolidated Cigar Corporation, as did Dutch Masters.

No kidding, I thought the same thing about the DEVO set too

the "set" looks just like what DEVO used in their "Whip It" video to me

Whoa! This must have been before my time. They just don't have this kind of talent anymore.

Ater all these years, this is still a SCREAM! Clever stuff! Ernie was amazing! By the way, Dutch Masters were very good cigars. During those years I smoked my weight in them. (By the way, they go very well with a few sips of Wild Turkey Rye.)

I don't know what Dutch Masters tasted like back than but his wife Edie Adams was hot. |
