I promise you he is either throwing it away or its on a pull and is going up his sleeve. The hand really *can* be quicker then the eye, or the video camera. I've seen a laserdisc of a 3 card monte expert. The trick move in the monte is visible for only a single frame in a 30 fps recording. Of course this all illustrates the REAL secret of magic... that at the end of the day the audience is foooled because they want to believe.

I watched the video carefully. It does not appear that he is throwing away the knife on the back swing. I see it in his hand as he throws it forward.

Sorry to ruin your fantasies...n but he aint throwing nothing. This is an old carny routine. He throws the "knife" really just a harmless unsharp piece of metal) away on the back swing. The knife you see comes OUT of the back board which is rigged and triggered by an offstage assistant.

this is great! I loved these specials!! Have you guys heard about the new Celebrity Circus on NBC? Sounds pretty similar, and looks very good. Rachel Hunter is on there, which is enough for me to watch! I think it starts this Wednesday, June 11. 9:30/8:30 according to the NBC website.
