real player in my opinion is bad because it's has alot of adware and people say it has spyware also. I uses MPC but it doesn't have the codec for rmvb format so yer.. but if anyone know how to fix it reply

VLC is fine in the Linux world, and it's a pretty good DVD player in Windows.
I think RealPlayer is bad, but Quicktime is worse, and I use RealAlternative, too, but I can't get it working in Linux.
Also, I think the best codec for any video is x264, which is what the piracy community has been experimenting with a lot, because it can easily convert a DVD quality movie format to a 150-600mb file without much loss of quality.

actually, windows media player classic 6.4 with codecs is one of the best, its fast. yes it dosent have many features and cool looks. but it gets the job done. i had trouble changing the vlc skins and, real player is a bit slow (when i go forward with the progress bar it takes a little(very very little)time to display, this dosent happen with the wmp classic.

Quicktime is good because can read movs.
RealPlayer is shit.
Winamp is too simple.
Windows Media Player owns.
