i did the same thing to my ibook the conector is a piece of shit but i went to the apple store and one of the 'geniuses' told me to get an old imac g3 keyboard cuz it has a power switch on it so thats a short term fix that doesnt involve soldering the thing back on

Yeah. The real model is "Tool 10,000 days" which reads on the top cover (the red thing).

Yes, I think so. There are lot's of screws which can get mixed if not careful and that plastic spudger is necessary. Check ifixit dot com.
