No matter how many times I watch this... it never fails to give me chills and bring tears to my eyes.
An absolutely beautiful film.

Intersting comment yours.... I agree re the money; when I mentioned cheap piece of filmmaking I certainly was not talking about the excellent cinematography, in fact, that was probably the reason it won some oscars. When I say cheap, I am more referring to the sappy script and directing.
Let's just agree this type of genre is not my forte ;) I'll leave this movie to the emotional people who enjoy being manipulated in a theatre. I prefer something a little more celebral shall we say ;) kid

Cheap piece of filmmaking - you're out of your mind. The cinematography on this is on par with Citizen Kane.
I have to admit, I too didn't feel much emotion watching this scene. But the end of the film blindsided me. I'm man enough to admit that.

I am a grown man - I hated The Notebook but loved Atonement.

was only a sad truth, that only those with the taste for grate drama can enjoy, now dont get me wrong I was able to appreciated but not enjoy . Ps I guess from a writers perspective (which Im not) the sad ending was more moving and deep but to me the one that the sister wrote in the movie (the happy one) would have been better. |
