If you have read the book, you'd love witcher twice or more better and the choice would be easier.
Personally i didn't like AC - it's... hard. You do the same things many times, what makes the game boring. Characters also talk much. You gotta listen to them to get what's it all about.
I'd choose The Witcher. It's more brutal, realistic, deeper.
