its a creative song. A good perspective on a break up- the happy and the sad. You dont have to be young or old or young to appreciate that. Its a damn good song!

i appreciate the mix of fast & slow in this song. if the verse led up to the same kind of beat and the same kind of vibe, i think it wouldve been boring. and paul simon aint boring.

Interesting to note how this song came to be. Paul was teaching his son about rhyming words. So it's nice to see how he combined this childlike aspect with a song about love and heartbreak.

I agree with Kate; it has little to do with our ages and old music (I like old music :P). The verse is quite interesting and rather sad, but the happy chorus just doesn't fit in my opinion. Oh well.

haha! i do like some old music :P. but i see what you mean. i really like the verse, i just think the chorus doesn't fit it very well, so it lets the verse down.

The song IS great and the chorus too. I think it's because this song is OLD and you are young!! IF you were in your 50's like me, you could reminisce and appreciate it more. It is a fun song to play!!!LOL

yeah i agree, it sounds like a really good song, and then the horrible crappy chorus arrives sounding... terrible :P.

Rofl...
Honestly, this is my first time listening to the song, and it seemed promising until the chorus came. The verses' chords progressions are excellent and sound sad...and then the sappy chorus steps in :/ |
