It was an attempt to use Apple's own "medium" to beat them. The base Mac-PC argument does not really make sense because by all sensible definitions a Mac is a PC and the majority of Apple's commercials are not hardware related anyways. IMO the names of the operating systems should have just been used here though. In any case, I do feel like trying out a Linux distro on a PS3....

Don't the people who made this video and all the responses see the fallacy here? Linux is an Operating System. PC and MAC are computers. If your going to talk about Linux then compare it to Windows and OSX or whatever Mac runs. Do Linux users not buy PCs or Macs? Really PC and Mac should be represented as two people trying on coats: Windows, OSX and a thousand different but similar versions of Linux.

It seems like it has varied from version to version for Game Maker. Version 5.3A received 2 "platinums", a "gold", a "silver", and a "bronze" in terms of user reviews whereas 7.0 received 4 "bronzes" and a "garbage" (6.1 ranked somewhere between there). Before trying you should try to checkout WINE's application database to avoid saving time for applications you are not sure of.

well most programs didn't work for me with wine, such as game maker and games.
LordDestros (August 18, 2008 at 12:49 am)
Not really, you can look online to see how well certain programs have run in WINE in the past. For me it handled HL2 rather well as an example (I'd say it ran about the same or slightly better than HL2:Ep 2 did on my Windows partition) and I don't really consider that to be a simple application.

I do not like linux, but it is excellent value.

WINE isn't that reliable. When it does play games or programs, they have problems or do not work properly. And WINE can only run perfectly the simplest apps.
