based on there costumer service i can see why. you should never have to explain why you want to cancel and account, i would have talked to a superviser, its fine to ask why your canceling but if they dont want to explain then o well. the rep should have never spoken to him like that ever! i would have spoken to his boss

John is not the problem here. The guy calling seems to have serious isues. Everybody know that an call center employee must ask this questions and try to "anti-churn" the customer. The customer of course realize this and can still be polite AND cancell his account. It's not hard unless you are method acting for "Psycho 2008".
In the end I think that John getting fired was the best thing that could happen to him... AOL suxx! :-)

I did training for one of T-Mobile's call centers and they TRAIN you to do everything possible so that people will not cancel as well as many other forms of blowing smoke for various reasons to put it nicely. Needless to say, I decided not to remain there after seeing this.
