Huh? The x86 architecture is awesome. Its an open system, many OSes can run on it. Does Linux, os/2, or Freebsd suck? No! (matter of opinion)
Why don't they need to be building new computer architectures, in order to not suck? because they don't have to. By They , I mean the companies / people that developed the other Oses besides Microsoft.

That is the point alright. Which is why Microsoft will always, always suck, unless they start building hardware.

That is the point. According to the Jobs and Woz in order to build a great and computer (or any device) you must design the software and the hardware so that they work together perfectly.
