No doubt for a small nation like North Korea this system could remain in friendly or neutral territory, Russia or China with ICBM fields deep in their own vast territory would be another question.
Do i think Rick Garcia is lying? No, i think he's doing his job as director of public affairs and trying to sell his product. I,m not saying anyone here is lying, but i remain sceptical ( due to faked tests in the past ) and would be happy to be directed to tests showing a lasers destructive ability.

Not exactly.
"The ABL can fly over friendly territory looking for targets that are well into the enemies area."
It says it at 0:34 seconds into the video. Unless you think they're lying of course...

Yeah, the problem is they need to be on patrol 24/7 over other nuclear powers territory. Which i imagine the other country wouldn't be too happy about. Then of course you would need to defend them. And this system is targeting ground launched ballistic missles, not cruise missles or submarine launched weapons.

We need like about 4,000 of these lasers all over the place. That way, we won't have to fear nuclear weapons, of course next there will be stealth IBMs if not already.

If you bought it as propaganda I guess it was effective for however, the research has been secretly active for decades that is why the USA can now claim the technology is very real. This technology was not the result of few years or overnight work. It's been on the works for a very long time.
widgit007 (August 27, 2008 at 3:35 am)
Well, a trillion dollars later with very little to show for it some did try to claim it was the real reason for all the spending was to cause the Soviet union to collapse.

What the hell are you on about? It was a question wasn't the original SDI somewhat of a propaganda tool against the soviets? |
