hey guys sorry but sabayon is a source based distro,that's cool but deb or rpm install
packages are not compatible with this
at least you will have a huge mess later on
as said buy a sabayon forum moderator.
in other words imagine windows with 80% of sofware not working! go with this if you know

yea, windows doenst deserve compiz. id rather have it go to os x. then when i sell my kidney so i can afford a mac, i will get to play around with it

Erm, what about Damn Small Linux? 50mb, i dont get what you mean by stripped down. Maybe graphically it is not as nice but functionally with 128 MB of ram. *confused*

That is one of the most atractive things in GNU/Linux, Compiz, when people see it, instantly they want to have Linux, even if they dont know Windows.
But even you dont have knowledge of terminals, you could use an Ubuntu, Knoppix based distro, most of today Linux distros are start to being more easy than back in the days.
I use Debian and runs fine with all that stuff, but at the end is just an eye-candy and doesnt give something usefull, at least Desktop Switch.
