Ah cool, thanks for the info.
All the audio recording is done internally on my PC using "What you Hear" option. so I just need to record the recording level down.

yes, if the audio is too high while recording it'll clip, its especially nasty if its digital clipping. (analog clipping is the guitar distortion we all love in our favorite hard rockathons) if you want to record from things, do it through your AUX and not the Mic, the mic can have a 20db boost which sounds awful and the quality is shit. i have a little home studio that i set up and i've managed to keep my noise below 60db.

when you say clipping on audio, do you mean that clicking noise sometimes? I get that sometimes when recording FMV from games.
