You don't need 1.3-1.4v for 3ghz dual cores. You can use 1.2 for 3.8ghz (what I use) for my dual core.

long term, limits the CPU lifespan, but its you're only going to use it for 6-8 years anyway so ur fine.

i got a question if say a mother board have a build in overclock setting that it automatically overclocks for u it is wise to start going up in small increments from there?

that's why you usually go up in small increments. you're not supposed to jump up high values in a single time.

I would think that would be very bad for your computer. it would make it last a less amount of time I would think... :(

He could have rewired the entire computer and added new components in order to increase the voltage but if he messed up he could destroy his computer. He just used a safer prebuilt in method to do the same thing. |
