LOLOL YOUR COMPARING YOURSELF TO JOHN COLTRANE? lmfao, you've got some guts

Besides the obvious respect owed to Trane and Dolphy here (have two greater talents ever shared a stage?), McCoy and Elvin are so awesome in this performance. Stunning.

dude u should not be allowed to live anylonger if u say that ur band is good....where do i start...ok u need to give up the sax...the bass player looks and sounds like he doesnt know what he is doing...and the drummer cant even swing....im 16 and can already improv better than u can imagine on trumpet....coltrane stomps u to death

often imitated but never duplicated..its like this man absorb what he wanted from music remembered it and then fling it out his brain..yea forget the whole thing..charts rythym chords whatever..it just flowed from wherever that place was that john lived...not earth..jupiter maybe.... outside that box that constricts us as musicians! ....theres jazz and then theres coltrane. amazing

I felt I ought to post something, but my God, what could I say??? Maybe just, "it's Coltrane," but even that superlative doesn't do him justice. (Or his excellent sidemen!) |
