hardkaur is right..he does go into Basant..remember the song by lata/rafi Man ki been matwari baje...the line that resembles it is basant rut hai tan rang dalo etc

In my Opinion there are 4 living Legends of this instrument.
Ustad Sabri Khan, Pandit Ram Narayan, Ustad Sultan Khan and Pandit Ramesh Mishra.

I dont know, Ustad Sabri Khan puts a hell of alot of emotion into his playing as well, but I do think Ram Narayan is up there
