Music isn't supposed to be political?! Are you fucked?! Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Radiohead, Madonna, David Bowie, The Clash, Grand Funk Railroad, NWA, Neil Young! These people, some of the most musically influential of the last half century, have gotten it wrong?! Music mirrors life, politics have a big effect on everyone's life. Music is political.

You can't define what music was meant to do. It's just the expression of the soul, and if you're sould wants world change, then your music will reflect that. If it wants things to stay the same, your music will reflect that.

I said "it can be" because countless punk bands are making political music, but I also said "not supposed to be" because music was/is created (or supposed to be created) to sooth the mind and soul, not to agrivate and provoke anger. I'm not saying anything bad about Fugazi, cause this band is amazing. All I'm saying is, if you think people should "take political action", you're far off.
