How tall is she? Do you know? At her audition Amanda Holden said " I can't believe such a big voice came out of such a little person". Faryl is shorter than her parents, her brother, Ant and Dec, Andrew Johnston (aged 13), and many of her friends. Yes she is taller than the microphone but that could be any height from floor to ceiling. I have seen her in the street and she is not particularly tall. You couldn't use her height to pick her out in a crowd. She is not a beanpole by any standard.

The best part is she seems sooo down to earth - not stuck on herself like so many others. Totally refreshing - and I despise opera lol...

Wow, it's pretty obvious you have absolutely no clue what the hell you're talking about.
And if you DO have a clue, then you probably shouldn't speak, because you're just not good with communicating what you're trying to say

Yeah its good, and you know, there are dozens of singers like her and better. I heard some kick ass 14 year olds this summer, and they were real opera singers. Too bad that audiences don't expose themselves to classical music more often.

You're right that it's not opera, but not for the reason you're giving. "Opera" refers to a particular styles of singing that includes intense study, controlled use of the diaphragm, and a particular identifiable style that includes a lot of vibratto. "Choir" voice should also be controlled, but in a choir, vibratto is not desirable because it could make the group go flat, particularly if the one using the vibratto does not have good control of his or her voice. |
