I found out - Xboxes do not have batteries, it's inability to keep the time is a poor design feature.

I bought an Xbox from a jumble sale, it does power up but displays the clock with the incorrect date. I am not ale to change the date using the controller.
Does the Xbox have a battery which needs replacing ?
