I'm buying the HIS 4870, an Asus P5 Mobo, E8500 3.14ghz CPU, 4 GB of 1066mhz team dark ram, 1680 x 1050 with ample power and cooling, what kind of results would I get with crysis at all high?

sweet ! cuz im either debating weather to get the 4870 or the 4850.
i want to be able to run crysis on dx10 eitehr high / very high mix or just very high. lol.

If you are going to get the 4870, get a 600w psu.
The ati 4850 is as good as the ati 3870x2.
So you should go with the 4850 or the 4870.

it will work on you mobo, and its gonna deliver smooth gameplay at that resolution.
